UsagEX ("the app", "we") is an independent tool that helps you track your Claude and Codex subscription usage and limits. This policy explains what we collect and why. UsagEX is not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI.

What stays on your device (never sent to us)

ChatGPT, OpenAI and Codex

UsagEX offers two separate Codex connections. With phone-only sign-in, OpenAI and your chosen sign-in provider process authentication, cookies, IP address and browser information directly. ChatGPT credentials and conversations never reach UsagEX servers. Quota readings from this browser remain in secure device storage; readings older than 30 days and reset-expired percentages are hidden. With the optional computer connection, enabled after the in-app disclosure and pairing, your computer sends Codex usage counters (fresh input, output and cached-input tokens), model names, session identifiers, timestamps, quota percentages, window/reset times, plan type and reported credit/limit metadata to DijitalPi. Existing local statistics from the last 90 days may be imported. Project and computer names are hashed by default; the collector can be configured to send those names. Prompts, source code, conversations, OpenAI credentials and notify payloads are never uploaded. Codex has a separate UsagEX connection key and data record from Claude. Reports, notification preferences, push subscriptions and VS comparisons use that record; browser-account quotas are never merged into it. The widget uses the selected connection’s latest reading. Server retention matches the table below: quota snapshots 90 days, session statistics 2 years and notifications 180 days. Disconnecting this phone removes its local connection and push subscription, while paired computers and existing server data remain. Save a recovery key before disconnecting. In the Codex panel, Settings → Account → ▸ Delete UsagEX account permanently removes this UsagEX Codex record and paired devices. Running collector/codex/disconnect.js stops that computer’s collection. Neither action deletes your OpenAI account. Demo data is local sample data and does not enable collection.

What we collect and store

For Claude features, the following is sent to our server (operated by DijitalPi, hosted in Germany) so we can show trends and send alerts:

Project names are optional. By default the folder name of the project you work in is sent and stored alongside the session record. If you prefer not to send it, set "send_project_names": false in ~/.claude/usagex.json: from then on the collector replaces each folder name with a short, non-reversible hash (for example p-3f9a1c22) before sending, so we never see the real names. Reconnecting the computer keeps this preference.

The same switch also covers the name of your computer: while send_project_names is false, the hostname is hashed the same non-reversible way before it is sent, so the list of connected computers shows a short label instead of your machine's real name.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or the content of your Claude conversations.

Sharing with another user: the VS feature

VS ("Token Battle") is optional and only starts when you create a challenge code or enter someone else's. There is no random matchmaking and nobody can look you up.

When a challenge is accepted, a snapshot of your summary numbers is shown to that one opponent, and theirs to you:

Never shared: your full e-mail address, project names, conversation content, or anything about your computers. The numbers are frozen at the moment the challenge is accepted, so an old opponent never keeps a live view of your usage.

Sharing with friends: leagues

Leagues are optional. You join one only by creating it or by entering its invite code; there is no search, and nobody can add you to a league. A league has 2 to 20 members on the same provider (Claude or Codex), and its week runs Monday to Sunday in the league's time zone.

The other members of your league see:

Never shared: your e-mail address, project names, cost, conversation content or anything about your computers. The public invite page (/lig/CODE) shows only the league name and the number of members.

When you leave a league, or its owner removes you, you are left out of its future tables. In the weekly tables already saved for that league, your name and character are replaced with "Former member" and only your points stay, so the table still adds up. Your earlier activity entries in that league are deleted. The entry saying that you left shows your name until it is deleted after 90 days. Deleting your account does all of this in every league you belong to and deletes those entries too. League notifications (weekly champion, pokes, new members, last-day reminder) can be turned off in Settings → Notification settings or in the league's own settings.

Account recovery

Transfer codes last 10 minutes; recovery keys last one year. When you sign out of Claude, the app saves a single-use recovery key in this phone’s secure storage so you can sign back in on this phone without typing a code; it does not replace the recovery key you saved. Only hashes are stored. Used, replaced or expired codes are removed; account deletion also removes them. Email alone is not proof of ownership.
